Dale Carnegie says in his groundbreaking book How to Win Friends and Influence People that “15% of one’s financial success is due to one’s technical knowledge and 85% is due to skill in human engineering- to personality and the ability to lead people.”
Many marketers attempt to focus on technical aspects of marketing (how to make a blog, how to place ads on Facebook etc.) versus the true money maker – your personality and your ability to influence.
There is a myth out there that people buy programs not people – simply throw as many ads out there and the right people will purchase it.
Sorry, that’s not the case. Opportunity seekers are purchasing dreams. Dreams to escape debt, travel to exotic countries, spend more time with their families and stick it to their boss.
Your job is to make a connection with a fellow human being. The prospect doesn’t want to entrusts their dreams to a stranger. They want to do business with someone they can like, know and trust.
The good news is, we as online marketers can build those key ingredients into our communication. We can do it over the Internet and live anywhere in the world with our words, actions and content.
Your written word can be demonstrated in emails, Facebook posts, and blog posts
Your actions can be demonstrated by calling back leads and answering your phone.
Your content could be creating how to video tutorials and case studies to help your future partner.
In next week’s video we will begin to dive into each of these.
